NEPAL COVID-19 UPDATE: Nepal records 522 fresh COVID-19 cases on Sunday

KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 24

Nepal recorded 522 new coronavirus infections in last 24 hours, pushing the nationwide tally to 809,056, while the death toll climbed to 11,348 with three fatalities today.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 787,507 with 877 discharges logged today.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 7,625 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 6,061 were PCR tests while 1,564 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,368,512 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 35 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests totals to 557.

The highest numbers of infections were recorded in the capital with 159 cases today, while Nuwakot is second in line with 58 cases.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 97.3 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.

The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 10,201.

Currently, there are 220 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Saturday, Nepal had recorded 438 coronavirus cases while eight had succumbed to the disease during the same period.
