Nepal records 582 fresh COVID-19 cases, eight fatalities on Wednesday

Nepal recorded 582 new coronavirus infections in last 24 hours, pushing the nationwide tally to 810,880, while the death toll climbed to 11,380 with eight fatalities today.
Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 789,125 with 495 discharges logged today.
As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 9,495 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 7,167 were PCR tests while 2,328 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,393,734 PCR tests have been carried out till date.
Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 90 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests totals to 672.
Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 97.3 per cent, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4 per cent.
The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 10,375.
Currently, there are 216 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
On Tuesday, Nepal had recorded 569 coronavirus cases while 11 had succumbed to the disease during the same period.
