Two killed, four injured in Hetauda bus-hit

MAKAWANPUR, NOVEMBER 7

Two pedestrians were killed while four others sustained injuries after a passenger bus drive through a crowd in Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-19 on Saturday night.

The deceased have been identified as Suraj Bista (20) and Prem Bahadur Singh Thakuri (34) of Newarpani, Hetauda-19, according to Deputy Superintendent Jayashwor Rimal of the District Police Office. Meanwhile, the injured have been identified as Sangam Nepali, Nisha Moktan, Tulasa Bista and Laxmi Gurung.

According to authorities, the injured are being treated at hospitals in Hetauda and Bharatpur.

The incident occurred when the bus (Bagmati Province 03-001 Kha 0936), plowed through the crowd through a crowd of people who were heading to Deusi Bhailo cultural programme near Newarpani along the East-West highway.

Irate locals set the bus on fire, completely destroying it.

Meanwhile, police are on the search for the fleeing bus driver.
