CHITWAN, NOVEMBER 28
The closed door session of the CPN-UML's 10th National General Convention in Chitwan had not started till the filing of this report.
Yesterday's closed-door session had mandated UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli to propose a name list of central committee members and office bearers.
UML leaders Bhim Bahadur Rawal and Ghanshyam Bhusal had expressed dissatisfaction with the decision.
Despite their protest, Oli was authorised to propose the names of central committee members and office bearers.
Oli had held a series of discussion throughout the day to finalise the name list today.
'Oli held a series of discussion with various leaders to forge consensus and keep the party united and strong', said Publicity Department Co- coordinator Surya Thapa. Thapa said the party had no choice but to forge consensus.
UML Vice-chair Bhim Rawal, however, has been focusing on holding election to choose office bearers.
Ishwor Pokhrel and Subash Chandra Nembang have staked claim for the post of senior vice-president, while Bishnu Poudel and Shankar Pokhrel have both claimed the post of general secretary.
Oli had authorised Shankar Pokhrel, Prithvi Subba Gurung, Bishnu Poudel and Pradip Gyawali to prepare the list of central committee members. It is learnt that they have submitted the list to Oli.
