12 people injured in Lamjung jeep accident

Twelve people have been injured after the jeep they were travelling on fell below the road near Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-8 in Lamjung district this morning.

Twelve people have been injured after the jeep they were travelling on fell below the road near Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-8 in Lamjung district this morning.

According to police, the incident occurred when the jeep, en route to peace hill from Simpani lost control and skidded off the road and fell some 50 meters below at Kalimati. The jeep was carrying students and teachers of Ganesh Secondary School at Simpani, said Homraj Tamang of Bhusme.

It has been reported that 10 persons have been rescued and are being brought to District Hospital while rescue attempt is being made for two others.

A police team from Khudi Police Post has reached the incident site and carrying out rescue operation.
