KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 19

Ministry of Youth and Sports on Sunday felicitated six players, two coaches, one referee and nine journalists with annual awards.

Wushukas Deepak Hamal, Juni Rai and Sushmita Tamang karatekas Alan Shrestha, athlete Pushpa Bhandari and para-athlete Keshav Thapa were honoured with the Sports Talent awards along with taekwondo coaches Sangina Baidhya and Norbu Lama and referee Ashok Thapa.

Baidhya and Lama shared the award after they earned 50 points each and they got Rs 50,000 apiece, while others received Rs 100,000 each along with appreciation letters.

The MoYS also felicitated nine journalists - Himesh Ratna Bajracharya, Sanju Poudel, Bijaya Nepali, Namin Dhakal, Basanta Khatiwada, Kushal Timalsina, Sonita Aryal, Deepak Neupane, Ramesh Kumar Pandey and Binod Singh Bista. Minister Maheshwor Jung Gahatraj, National Sports Council Vice-president Shiva Koirala, MoYS Secretary Damodar Regmi and Joint Secretary Bishnu Raj Dhakal handed over the awards.
