Pakhrin first Nepali Congress CWC member

DHADING, DECEMBER 24

Former state minister Dilman Pakhrin has become the first person to be elected as central member of Nepali Congress from Dhading.

In 72 years of Nepali Congress' history, Dhading had failed to get the central member. Pakhrin was elected party's central member under the quota of ethnic group from 14th General Convention held in Kathmandu.

Elected as a member of the second Constituent Assembly under the proportional representation system, Pakhrin was the state minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Party Affairs in the Deuba-led government.

Son of Nepali Congress Dhading's founder and former president Daman Pakhrin, Dilman was defeated by CPN-UML's Khem Lohani with 625 votes in the last parliamentary elections.
