Nepal records 3,703 fresh COVID-19 cases, four fatalities on Saturday

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 15

The national active Covid-19 caseload of Nepal climbed to 21,584 on Saturday as 3,703 people tested positive for the infection in past 24 hours.

Nepal recorded 3,703 new coronavirus infections in last 24 hours, pushing the nationwide tally to 849,204 while the death toll reached to 11,617 as four fatalities were recorded today.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 816,003 with 350 discharges logged today.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 14,556 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 10,412 were PCR tests while 4,144 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,991,672 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 933 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests totals to 4,636.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 96.1%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.

The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 21,584.

Currently, there are 126 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Friday, Nepal had witnessded 4,204 cases of the COVID-19 infection while three persopns had succumbed to the disease in the same peiod.
