Three die as boulder falls on moving jeep

At least three persons died and three others were injured when a boulder fell on a moving Bolero jeep at Asine of Siddhicharan Municipality, Okhaldhunga, today.
Police said the boulder fell on the jeep from 100 metres above the road at 9:00am today.
As many as six people were traveling in the jeep. The deceased have been identified as Yusub Koirala, 10, seven-year-old Yunisha Koirala of Siddhicharan Municipality and Hem Magar, 30, of Manebhanjyang Rural Municipality.
Police said Magar died on the way to a health facility while the two others died on the spot. The jeep was heading towards Okhaldhunga from Moti.
Police said jeep driver Sandip Shrestha, 30, of Manebhanjyang Rural Municipality was injured in the accident.
Similarly, Dev Bahadur Shrestha, 42, of Manebhanjyang Rural Municipality and Laxmi Koirala, 28, of Siddhicharan Municipality were also injured. Police said the injured were receiving treatment in Mission Hospital, Okhaldhunga.
The stone fell from the cliff when an excavator was at work along the Okhaldhunga-Nishaje road section.
Kanchharam Construction, Kathmandu, has been constructing the road, said police.
