Nepal records 680 fresh COVID-19 cases, two fatalities on Tuesday

The national active Covid-19 caseload of Nepal climbed to 19,400 on Tuesday as 498 people tested positive for the infection in past 24 hours.
The latest reported number of infections carried the nationwide tally to 974,039 while the death toll reached 11,902 as two fatalities were recorded today.
Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 942,737 with 1,835 discharges logged today.
As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 7,095 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 4,256 were PCR tests while 2,839 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 5,350,721 PCR tests have been carried out till date.
Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 182 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests totals to 680.
Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 96.8%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.2%.
Currently, there are 112 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
