KATHMANDU, JANUARY 04

Nepal recorded 355 new coronavirus infections in last 24 hours, pushing the nationwide tally to 829,632 while the death toll remains at 11,601 as three fatalities were recorded on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 812,937 with 263 discharges logged today.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 9,329 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 7,794 were PCR tests while 1,535 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,887,818 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 38 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests totals to 393.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 98%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.

The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 5,094.

Currently, there are 98 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Monday, Nepal had witnessed 291 cases of the respiratory infection while two persons had succumbed to the disease in the same period.
