Kaski defeated Bishal Milan Kendra 94-92 and advanced to the men's section quarter-finals of the Lama Tendi Sherpa Memorial Open Basketball Tournament here at the NSC covered hall on Sunday. Pushkal Chhantyal netted 21 points for Kaski, who made it to the last eight as Group A runners-up behind Kirtipur Municipality.

Dipson Karki of BMK top scored in the match with 44 points but he was not able to avert his side's loss. Likewise, Time Basketball Club advanced to the quarters with a 83-78 victory over Royal Basketball Academy in Group C. Sadish Pradhan scored 29 for Times, while Nikesh Magar contributed 27 for Royal, who made it to the last eight as group runners-up.

In women's section, Lalitpur High thrashed Rupandehi 79-27 riding on 19 points from Muna Maharjan.

Deepika Gurung netted 13 points for Rupandehi.
