NEPSE drops 63 points on Wednesday

KATHMANDU, MARCH 2

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the country's main secondary market, fell 63.98 points on Wednesday, reopening after Mahashivaratri holiday which fell on Tuesday.

The benchmark index, which began at 2612.51 points, fell 2.45 per cent to settle at 2,546.60 points.

Similarly, the sensitive index fell 2.30 percent, or 11.52 points, to 488.69 points. The float index fell 2.47 percent, or 4.37 points, to 172.42 points.

Today's market had a total loss across all sub indices, with the finance index losing the most (3.65%).

Today, a total of 7,52,204 shares of 228 companies were traded for Rs 3.621 billion, a decrease from Rs 3.660 billion on Monday.

The total market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 3.607 trillion.
