KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 27

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index, the sole secondary market of the country, fell 69.77 points to reach 2,521.65 points, on Monday.

The benchmark index, which had risen to 71.20 points on Sunday, sank 2.69 percent on the week's second trading day.

Today, both the sensitive index and the float index were in the red, with the sensitive index falling to 471.89, a 10.85 point or 2.25 percent drop. The float index plummeted to 173.09 points, a decrease of 4.53 points or 2.55 percent.

Similarly, all sub-indices lost money, with the non-life insurance index leading the pack with a 5.15 percent decrease.

Today, a total of 10,292,226 shares from 238 companies were traded at Rs 5.607 billion in 67,760 transactions.

At the end of the day the total market capitalisation stood at Rs 3.563 trillion.
