PNG faces yet another upset in T20I Tri-series aganist Malaysia

Papua New Guinea (PNG) has lost their second encounter at the hands of Malaysia in the T20 International Tri-series being hosted by Nepal at the Tribhuvan International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

Batting first, Malaysia posted a competitive total of 180 runs at the expense of three wickets in their 20 overs, chasing which PNG fell short by 8 runs and lost all wickets with three balls remaining in the innings.

Virendeep Singh of Malaysia, who remained not out, made 59 runs (off 52 deliveries) while the Malaysian skipper Ahmad Faiz and Syed Aziz too made important contributions for the team by making 56 (off 37 deliveries) and 47 (off 26 deliveries) runs respectively.

Sharvin Muniandy was awarded as the player of the match for scalping four PNG wickets in 3.3 overs.

Following the match-up, Nepal remain as table toppers with a better net run rate as both Nepal and Malaysia share the same 2 points having won one game each in the series.

Nepal will lock horns with Malaysia on Wednesday at the same venue.
