Minor honoured for recording video of domestic violence

Achham police have feted an 11-year-old boy who helped bring to the fore violence meted to his grandmother by his own mother in Panchadewal Binayak Municipality.
Dipendra Neupane had secretly recorded a video of his grandmother, aged 53, being beaten.
Neupane was honoured amidst a ceremony by the District Police Office for his role in exposing the domestic violence incident happening at his home in Panchadewal Binayak Municipality-6, Toli.'As he helped expose the violence happening to his grandmother at his home, he was honoured for his good work that helped to bring to book the perpetrator,' said District Police Office Spokesperson Kailash Bista. Today, Sudurpaschim Province Internal Affairs and Law Minister Rana Bahadur Rawal honoured the boy by offering garland, shawl and an appreciation letter.
Dipendra is the son of Devsara Neupane, the daughter-in-law of the victim. He had recorded a video secretly when his mother and another person were beating his grandmother. Police, on the basis of the video, had later arrested Devsara and another woman Dharma Neupane, aged 35. Dharma is learnt to be the wife of the victim's husband's brother.
Police are said to have registered a case and investigating into the case.
