BARA, SEPTEMBER 25

Police made public a person, who was arrested for killing his stepmother from Inaruwa in Parsa, at District Police Office, Bara, yesterday.

The arrested has been identified as Jaya Kishwor Yadav, 25, of Kalaiya sub-metropolis, Bara.

Police said Jaya Kishwor killed Tetari Devi, 48, after citizenship issue ran high on 15, September. He had killed his mother with khukuri at night. Tetari died on the spot, said police. Jaya Kishwor was at large after the incident. Police have kept the accused in custody and further investigation into the arrested is on.

Tetari had tied knot with Shiva Narayan Yadav, 55, 30 years ago.

Shiva Narayan married another woman as Tetari could not give birth.
