Two Sherpa climbers missing near French Pass on Dhaulagiri

At least two Sherpa climbers went missing when an avalanche struck the climbing route on Mt Dhaulagiri this morning, according to officials.

Nilhari Bastola, chairman at Trekking Agents Association of Nepal, told THT Online that two Sherpa climbers were missing when an avalanche hit the French Pass area at an altitude of 5300m on Mt Dhaulagiri.

They were part of the Dhaulagiri Expedition handled by Four Season Trekking. Helicopters and ground teams were standby to conduct a search for the missing climbers but weather condition was adverse, he added.
