Pradhan, Moktan, Bista advance to semi-finals

LALITPUR, DECEMBER 21

Three Nepali players, Rajbir Pradhan, Prasamsa Moktan and Swastika Bista advanced to the semi-finals of the Circuit-II event under the 20th Jaykar Memorial ATF U-14 Tennis Tournament here today.

Pradhan defeated India's Ishan Badaqi 6-0, 6-4 in the boys' singles quarter-final match at the International Sports Complex courts.

Hong Kong duo Wan Him Donovan Yim and Ki Cheong Morris Tang made it to the last four along with In-dia's Siddharth Jeebu. Jeebu defeated Hong Kong's Chuen Hei Carison Fung 4-6, 6-1, 6-2, while Yim beat Vivaan Mirdha of India 6-2 6-1. Likewise, Tang outplayed Pakistan's Zohaib Afzal Malik 6-1, 6-0.

In girls' singles quarter-finals, Nepali player Moktan recorded a 6-1. 2-6, 6-4 victory over India's Sanvi Reddy Vundyala, while Swastika Bista earned a walkover win from Nala Josephine Maskey of the United States. Indian players Sarah Chaudhary and Tanishca Bhatnagar Tanishca joined them in the semi-finals with wins over Nepali players. Chaudhary beat Adya Poudyal 6-4, 6-2, while Tanishca outplayed Jenny Khadka 6-1, 6-2.

In boys' doubles, Raj Bir Pradhan and Darsheel Shrestha of Nepal made it to the semi-finals with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Bangladesh's Nassaf Ahmed Nasir Ahmed and India's Arsh Walke Walke.

Indian duo Ishaan Badagi and Sanjay Girish Kumar; Hong Kong's Ki Cheong Morris Tangand Wan Him Donovan Yim; and India's Siddharth Jeebu and Vivaan Mirdha also advanced to the last four.
