LALITPUR, DECEMBER 20

Nepali players Prasamsa Moktan, Adya Poudyal and Swastika Bista advanced to the quarter-finals along with Raj Bir Pradhan after the second day of the Circuit-II event under the 20th Jaykar Memorial U-14 ATF Tennis Tournament here today.

Moktan defeated Naba Nishan of Maldives 7-5, 7-5 in the girls' singles match at the International Sports Complex courts. Poudyal beat Oman's Aisha Al Busaidi 6-3, 6-3, while Bista recorded a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Honey Jumani Gaurav Jumani of India.

In boys' section, Raj Bir Pradhan was the lone winner from the host country. Pradhan defeated Yue Hin Wong of Hong Kong 6-0, 6-2. Three Nepali players - Nishad Joshi, Boris Adhikari and Brijesh Aryal - lost to their Hong Kong opponents, while Darsheel Shrestha faced defeat at the hands of Indian player.

Chuen Hei Carison Fung beat Joshi 6-1, 6-1; Wan Him Donovan Yim defeated Adhikari 6-3, 6-4; and Ki Cheon Morris Tnang outplayed Brijesh Aryal 6-0, 6-0.

Likewise, India's Vivaan Mirdha beat Shrestha 6-2, 6-0. Also advancing to the last eight in boys' section were India's Ishan Badaqi and Siddharth Jeebu along with Pakistan's Zohaib Afzal Malik.

In boys' doubles, Indian duo Ishaan Badagi and Sanjay Girish Kumar; Pakistan's Zohaib Afzal Malik and Yemen's Hamood Eyad; Nassaf Ahmed Nasir Ahmed of Bangladesh and Arsh Walke Walke of India; and India's Siddharth Jeebu and Vivaan Mirdha made it to the quarter-finals.

Likewise, Nepal's Jenny Khadka and Samridhi Maharjan; Nepal's PrasamsaMoktan and India's Tanishca Bhatnagar Tanischca; India's Honey Jumani Gaurav Jumani and Nepal's Prajna Manandhar; and Nepal's Swastika Bista and India's Sanvi Reddy Vundyala advanced to the girls' doubles semi-finals.
