Lalitpur, December 22
Nepali player Raj Bir Pradhan and Hong Kong's Ki Cheong Morris Tang advanced to the boys' singles final of the Circuit-II event under the 20th Jaykar Memorial ATF U-14 Tennis Tournament here today.
Pradhan defeated India's Siddharth Jeebu 6-1, 6-3 in the semi-final match at the International Sports Complex courts.
Pradhan, the lone Nepali player to make it to the singles final, will face Tang, who beat fellow Hong Kong player Wan Him Donovan Yim 6-4, 6-1.
In girls' singles section, Sarah Chaudhary and Tanishca Bhatnagar Tanishca set all-India final after they registered victories over Nepali opponents. Chaudhary defeated Swastika Bista 6-3, 6-0, while Tanishca beat Prasamsa Moktan 6-2, 6-2.
Hong Kong players Ki Cheong Morris Tang and Wan Him Donovan Yim advanced to the boys' doubles final after they laboured to a 7-5, 7-6 (15-13) victory over Nepal's Raj Bir Pradhan and Darsheel Shrestha. They will face Siddharth Jeebu and Vivaan Mirdha, who beat fellow Indian players Ishaan Badagi and Sanjay Girish Kumar 6-3, 6-0.
Likewise, Honey Jumani Gaurav Jumani of India and Prajna Manandhar of Nepal made it to the girls' singles final after they recorded a 6-3, 6-1 win over Prasamsa Moktan of Nepal and Tanishca Bhatnagar Tanishca of India. Nepal's Swastika Bista and Sanvi Reddy Vundyala of India also advanced to final. They beat Nepal's Jenny Khadka and Samridhi Maharjan 7-6 (7), 3-6, 10-8.
