TANAHUN: Ganya Football Club won the title of the first Rajendra Memorial Cup Open Men's Football Tournament here on Thursday.
Ganya defeated 39 Gorkha Training Centre 1-0 in the final match. Manoj Gurung of Ganya scored the solitary goal of the match in the 28th minute.
Along with the trophy and medals, Ganya received Rs 205,555, while runners-up 39 GTC got Rs 115,555. Ganya duo Sandip Rana and Arjun Gurung were declared the best player of the tournament and best defender respectively. Samin Thapa of Dobhan Youth Club was the highest scorer.
Gandaki Province Sports Minister Rajeev Gurung handed over the prizes to the winners.
A total of 39 teams took part in the tournament organised by Dobhan Youth Club.
