KATHMANDU: Nepal Veterinary Association is organising the Right To Protein Run on January 21 with a total cash purse of Rs 1.36 million.

The second edition of the Run features seven categories - half marathon, 10km, 5km, 3km and wheelchair races, informed the NVA President Dr Shital Kaji Shrestha at a press meet on Thursday.

Top five athletes in men's and women's 21km events will get Rs 100,000, Rs 75,000, Rs 50,000, Rs 40,000 and Rs 30,000 respectively, while the winners in men's 10km race will earn Rs 50,000, Rs 40,000, Rs 30,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.

Likewise, top five players in women's 5km, boys' 5km and wheelchair races will get Rs 30,000, Rs 20,000, Rs 15,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively, while the winners in 3km event will get Rs 20,000, Rs 15,000, Rs 10,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 2,5000.

"After the success of the first edition, we are organising the event to raise awareness on importance of protein for human being," said Shrestha.
