HK-XI win T20 series

KATHMANDU: Hong Kong-XI defeated Bagmati Province by 11 runs to win the two-match Twenty20 series 2-0 here at the Mulpani grounds on Thursday.

The visitors posted 113-8 in their allotted 20 overs before the home team managed 102-6 in reply despite 48-ball 52 from Kanchan Shrestha, the only half century of the series.

The Bagmati Province Invitational Series ended in a 2-2 draw as the home had won the 40-over-a-side series 2-0. Sony Pakhrin of Bagmati was named the player of the series and the best bowler, while Kary Chan of HK-XI was the best batter.

Member of Parliament Sobita Gautam, President of Bagmati Province Cricket Association Raju Basnyat, former national team skipper Paras Khadka, and former CAN vice-president Upendra Bhattarai handed over the prizes to the winners.
