Hong Kong-XI defeated Bagmati Province by 57 runs in the first Twenty20 match under Bagmati Province Invitational Series here at the Mulpani grounds on Tuesday.
Batting first, the visitors amassed 168-6 in their allotted 20 overs before the home team managed 111-8 in reply.
Lemon Cheung top scored for Hong Kong-XI with an unbeaten 40 off 31 balls that included six fours and she was later named the player of the match. Betty Chan scored 33 runs and Kary Chan contributed 26. Sony Pakhrin and Krishma Gurung took two wickets each for the home team.
In reply, Binda Katuwal and Khusi Dangol scored 18 runs each for Bagmati.
Emma Cai grabbed two wickets for Hong Kong-XI. The two teams will play the second and final T20 match on Thursday. Bagmati Province won the two-match 40-over-a-side series 2-0 on Monday.
