KATHMANDU: Bagmati defeated Hong Kong-XI by four wickets to win the two-match 40-over-a-side series 2-0 here at the Mulpani grounds on Monday.

Hong Kong-XI were bowled out for 101 runs in 25 overs before the home team reached 102-6 in 29.2 overs. Hong Kong-XI skipper Kary Chan scored 22 runs, while Emma Lai (16) and Heiley Lui (14) also scored in double figures.

Khusi Dangol and Sony Pakhrin took three wickets each for Bagmati, while skipper Asmina Karmacharya and Bipisha Shahi claimed two and one wicket respectively.

In reply, player-ofthe-match Sony Pakhrin scored 27 runs, while Kanchan Shrestha contributed 265 and Saina Silwal remained unbeaten on 21. Betty Chan took three wickets for Hong Kong-XI, while Lai bagged two.

Bagmati had won the first match of the Bagmati Province Invitational Series by two wickets on Sunday. The two teams will now play two Twenty20 matches on Tuesday and Thursday.
