TAC athletes dominate CoAS Marathon

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 11

Tribhuvan Army Club athletes dominated the CoAS Marathon and Run For Fun here at the Nepali Army headquarters today.

Rajan Rokaya finished first in men's marathon after he completed the 42.195km distance in two hours, 20 minutes and 08 seconds.

Rajan Rokaya came second in 2:21:43, while his TAC teammate Krishna Bahadur Basnet was third in 2:22:22.

TAC athletes Deepak Adhikari and Mukesh Pal claimed top two spots. Adhikari completed the 21km race in one hour, four minutes and 06 seconds, while Pal came second in 1:04:47. Baglung's Tirtha Pun finished third. Nepal Police Club athlete Rajpura Pachai won women's half marathon on 1:14:34, finishing ahead of TAC duo Purna Laxmi Neupane (1:19:03) and Nirmala KC (1:21:29). Suraj Aydee, Bishal Chandra Waji and Jilespi Jung Karki claimed top three spots respectively in 10km race for male army officers, while Asmita GC, Durga KC and Gita Gurung did so in women's section. Bikash Ghimire of Pinnacle Academy and Sonu Ghatani of Rastriya Sewa Dal won 10km races for boys and girls.

Banoth Praveen Naik of Indian Embassy won the 10km race. British Embassy's Sunder Sherchan came second and Indian Embassy's Satish Kumar was third. The eighth edition of the Marathon - organised by the Nepali Army Physical Training and Sports Centre - featured five categories.
