KATHMANDU: The 20th edition of the Gyan Niketan Cup Basketball Tournament is beginning here on Thursday.

A total of 19 teams are taking part in the tournament that features three categories - senior boys, junior boys and girls, informed Gyan Niketan Principal Lila Kunwar at a press meet on Wednesday.

While the teams in boys' sections are divided into two pools each, the four teams in girls' category - Gyan Niketan, Innovative, Chaitnaya and Manaslu - will play under round robin format. Gyan Niketan, Angel Lord, Manaslu, Buddha Academy, KMC School, Puspa Vatika, Neric and Kathmandu Xavier are taking part in senior boys' section.

Likewise, Neric, Gyan Niketan, Innovative, Greenfield, Unique Nepal, Kathmandu Xavier and KMC School are in junior boys' category. The finals are slated for February 21.
