Three sherpa climbers missing in Everest crevasse as icefall route collapses

KATHMANDU, APRIL 12

At least three sherpa climbers went missing in a crevasse when they were heading for Camp I from the base camp this morning, a source at the base camp said.

The incident occurred between Camp I and the base camp when Sherpa climbers headed to Camp I carrying expedition logistics, the source confirmed.

'Three Sherpa climbers have gone missing in a crevasse when the icefall route collapsed this morning,' a source told THT from the base camp.

Efforts are underway to search and rescue the missing climbers, the source added.
