CHITWAN: Bhaktapur and Chitwan recorded victories in the Bharatpur Mayor Cup Bagmati Province U-16 Cricket Tournament here at the under-construction Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium grounds on Tuesday, Bhaktapur defeated Makawanpur by five wickets.

Batting first, Makawanpur were bowled out for 109 runs in 25 overs.

Aashik Adhikari and Rohit Thakur scored 25 runs each. Bibek Yadav took four wickets for Bhaktapur. In reply, Bhaktapur reached the target losing five wickets in 19.4 overs. Player-of-the-match Samyam Nepal scored 28-ball 29, while Akash Kumar Shah remained unbeaten on 26 off 30 balls. In another match, Chitwan beat Nuwakot by 23 runs. Batting first, Chitwan posted 122-9 in 25 overs before packing Nuwakot for 99 runs in 19.4 overs. Chitwan's Dipesh Khatri, who took a hat-trick in the 17th over, returned with 4-13 and he also earned the player-of-the-match award. Suryanshu Koirala top scored for Chitwan with 54-ball 53.
