An Indian climber has been found alive, three days after he went missing on Mt Annapurna.

A team of rescuers found Anurag Maloo, 34, in a deep crevasse below Camp III of the world's tenth highest peak, Chhang Dawa Sherpa, Expedition Director at Seven Summit Treks, said.

Anurag's brother Sudhir Maloo said that Anurag has been found alive but he is in a very critical stage.

Anurag has gone missing since Monday after he fell into a deep crevasse from 5,800m while descending from Camp III on Mt Annapurna.

A team of six Sherpa climbers led by Chhang Dawa conducted a ground search and found him in some 300m deep crevasse this morning, said Mingma Sherpa, Chairman at Seven Summit Treks. Anurag has been airlifted to Pokhara and he is now undergoing treatment at Manipal Hospital, Sherpa said.

Renowned Polish climber Adam Bielecki and his friend also joined the ground search and rescue team to locate Anurag. 'His condition is very critical,' hospital sources confirmed. Details to follow.
