PM Cup Volleyball

KATHMANDU: Nepal Volleyball Association is organising the seventh Prime Minister Cup -NVA Women's and Men's National Volleyball Club League from July 8-15.

A total of 14 teams - eight in men's and six in women's sections - will participate in the tournament, informed the organisers at a press meet on Monday. The teams were selected from the Club Championship earlier this year.

Each team is allowed to include three foreigners in the squad. Top four teams in both categories will receive Rs 600,000, Rs 300,000, Rs 150,000 and Rs 75,000 respectively. The league champions will get a chance to compete in the CAVA Men's Club Championship to be held in December in Nepal.

The best players will get Rs 35,000 each, while the best server, setter, blocker, spiker, libero and coach will earn Rs 15,000 apiece.

Out of the Rs 7.5 million budget, the National Sports Council will provide the NVA with Rs 4 million, while Machhapuchchhre Bank, Sher Bahadur Khadka Trust, former NVA President Manoranjan Raman Sharma and media partner Hamro Khelkud have pledged financial support.
