KATHMANDU, JUNE 10

The House of Representatives on Wednesday received the Nepal Rastra Bank (Third Amendment) Bill, 2083, aimed at strengthening the financial sector and enhancing macroeconomic stability.

Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle tabled the bill, saying the proposed amendments seek to update the legal framework governing the central bank in line with changes in the domestic and global financial environment, including the growing use of digital systems.

He said the bill is intended to help maintain price and balance-of-payments stability and support sustainable economic development.

The next meeting of the House of Representatives is scheduled for June 11.
