KATHMANDU, JULY 20

Nepal No 1 amateur golfer Subash Tamang climbed up to top 10 after the third round of the 75th Singapore Open Amateur Championship at the par-73 Orchid Country Club in Aranda-Dendro today.

Tamang carded two-under 71 for the 54-hole of six-under 213 and he shared the 10th position with Singapore's Brayden Lee (70). The second round finally completed after a delay of more than five hours due to lightning and rain. Tamang and Lee are nine strokes off the pace going into the final round.

According to Nepal national team coach Deepak Acharya, the players were called back to the club house after they had just finished the first hole.

Play resumed after a delay of four hours. The match was interrupted for the second time after nine holes and this time the players had to wait for one and half hours to complete the round.

The 13th South Asian Games double gold medallist, Tamang had a quiet round compared to first two days. He carded one each birdie on either half and saved pars on 16 holes. He took the turn with a birdie on the seventh and added another on the 15th hole.
