NEPSE Index gains 2.03%, Closes at 2,060.91

KATHMANDU, AUGUST 09

In today's trading session, the NEPSE index concluded at 2,060.91, indicating a notable double-digit upswing of 41.06 points or 2.03% in comparison to the prior day's closing. However, the index faced a setback of 28.40 points yesterday.

Commencing the trading day at 2,018.72, the index initiated its journey. Throughout the day, it hit a low of 2,000.23, reflecting some downward movement. Conversely, it also reached a peak of 2,061.08 before eventually settling at the closing value of 2,060.91.

During today's trading activities, a total of 265 scrips were swapped in 77,501 transactions. The share volume traded summed up to 5,010,716, signifying a turnover of Rs. 1.88 Arba. The market capitalization was assessed at Rs. 30.53 Kharba, accompanied by a floating market capitalization of Rs. 10.78 Kharba.

Among the listed stocks, IME Life Insurance Company Limited (ILI) stood out in terms of trading volume and turnover, amassing Rs. 15.5 crores, with a closing market price of Rs. 589.

In the realm of individual stock performance, Himalayan Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (HLBSL) achieved the most substantial gain of 9.83% for the day.

On a contrasting note, Century Debenture 2088 (CCBD88) experienced the most significant decline of 9.99%.

In the context of sector indices, the 'Mutual Fund' sector was the sole one to conclude in the red. The 'Hotel and Tourism' sector emerged as the frontrunner, registering an ascent of 3.50%. Conversely, the 'Mutual Fund' sector exhibited the least growth, edging up by 0.96%.
