KATHMANDU, AUGUST 08

In today's trading session, the NEPSE Index concluded at a value of 2,019.85 points, reflecting a significant decrease of 28.40 points or 1.38% in comparison to the previous day's closing figure. On Monday, the index experienced a slight decrease of 3.21 points.

The session commenced with the index opening at 2,047.72 and briefly reaching an intraday peak of 2,055.31. However, the market later hit an intraday low of 2,013.37 before finally settling at the closing value of 2,019.85.

Throughout today's trading activities, a total of 265 scrips were traded through 74,257 transactions, involving a substantial share volume of 4,860,741, equating to a turnover of Rs. 1.73 Arba. The market capitalization was recorded at Rs. 29.92 Kharba, and the float market capitalization stood at Rs. 10.57 Kharba.

Among the newly IPO-issued and listed companies, IME Life Insurance Company Limited achieved the highest turnover of Rs. 17.89 crores, concluding at a market price of Rs. 589.

Swarojgar Laghu Bitta Bikas Bank Ltd. (SLBBL) experienced the highest increase for the day as it reached the positive circuit and closed at Rs. 759.

Meanwhile, the 10.25% GLOBAL IME BANK LTD. DEBENTURE 2080/81 (GBD80/81) witnessed the most significant decline of 9%.

Within the sub-indices, all sub-categories closed in the red. The "Finance" sub-index encountered the most substantial loss at 2.69%, while the "Mutual Fund" and "Investment" sub-indices saw the least decline at 0.72% each.
