KATHMANDU, JUNE 8

The 18-year-old Nima Rinji Sherpa became the youngest person ever to summit Mt. Kanchenjunga, the world's third-highest mountain, on Saturday.

He reached the summit at 9:30 am with his climbing partner Pasang Nurbu, Russian climber Alina, and four Sherpa guides: Dendi Sherpa, Fura Tsering Sherpa, Phurba Kusang Sherpa, and Ang Tenji Sherpa.

This achievement adds to Nima's impressive mountaineering record. Last year, he became the youngest climber to conquer Mt. K2 and the youngest to traverse from the summit of Mount Everest to the summit of Mt. Lhotse at 17.
