Gold price hits record high in domestic market

KATHMANDU, JULY 16

The price of gold has reached an unprecedented height in the domestic market, increasing by Rs 900 per tola on Tuesday. The price of the yellow metal has been rising steadily in recent days, setting new records despite minor fluctuations.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association, fine gold is now priced at Rs 147,800 per tola, up from Rs 146,900 per tola on Monday. This surge marks the beginning of the Nepali month of Shrawan with a significant increase in gold prices. On Monday, the price had already risen by Rs 200 per tola, setting a new record in the domestic market.

Similarly, Tejabi gold (worked gold) is being traded at Rs 147,100 per tola today, compared to Rs 146,200 per tola on Monday.

Meanwhile, the price of silver has declined in the Nepali market. Silver is being traded at Rs 1,875 per tola today, down from Rs 1,885 per tola on Monday.
