After captivating audiences across five US cities, Nepal's famous folk-rock band Nepathya enthralled New York with a blend of old and new songs during their ongoing USA Tour 2024.

In a statement, Nepathya noted that this city, regarded as the world's epicenter, is where the band has performed most frequently in America. Throughout the concert, the packed Terminal 5 hall was energized by the lights, sounds, and fervent crowd, creating a vibrant atmosphere.

Singer Amrit Gurung's social and cultural commentary between songs was well-received, as he engaged with the audience, revealing that some songs were inspired by his treks through Nepal's rugged landscapes, while others were gathered from similar sources, as stated in the statement.

During the concert, Amrit urged Nepali expatriates in America, 'As long as the Nepali language persists, we Nepalis will endure. Wherever you go, ensure your descendants retain their mother tongue or remain connected through Nepali.'

As the show progressed, the band performed 'Yo Jindagani,' evoking nostalgia among the audience. However, with 'Gaun–Gaun Bata Utha,' the atmosphere shifted dramatically, reaching its zenith with vibrant renditions of 'Resham,' 'Taal Ko Paani,' and 'Rato Ra Chandra Surya,' reads the statement.

Anil Shah, a New York resident for 35 years, shared a video on Facebook of himself dancing with friends, commenting, 'Even in my twilight years, Nepathya continues to invigorate and rejuvenate me!'

As the final song, 'Rato Ra Chandra Surya,' resonated through the venue, singer Amrit Gurung was deeply moved to see national flags fluttering among the thousands of spectators. During a musical interlude, he raised both hands and implored, 'Let Nepali speakers worldwide come together.' In response, the packed Terminal 5 hall surged with fervent applause and support, according to the statement.

At the concert, lead vocalist Amrit was accompanied by Dhruv Lama on drums, Subin Shakya on bass guitar, Niraj Gurung on guitar, Shanti Rayamajhi on madal, and Dineshraj Regmi on keyboard.

After their New York concert, Nepathya will head to Maryland and wrap up their tour in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, marking the end of their year's performances.

Tickets for all U.S. concerts can be purchased online through the band's official website, www.nepathya.com.np, according to the statement.
