KATHMANDU, JUNE 14

Seven years on, when Nepathya took the stage at the Royal Boston Hall, much had changed for its audience-and even lead singer Amrit Gurung's once dark, long hair had turned white.

Following successful performances in Austin, Seattle, Pittsburgh, LosAngeles and Chicago as part of the ongoing Nepathya USA Tour 2025, the band enthralled the Boston crowd with a captivating blend of old and new songs, seamlessly woven into their signature folk-rock style.

In a statement issued today, Nepalaya, the band's management company, said the show began promptly at 8:00 PM and lasted for two hours.

The concert opened with 'Koshiko Pani' and gradually gained momentum with performances of 'Bhedako Oon Jasto', 'Chhekyo Chhekyo', 'Jomsom Bazaar'. The audience appeared visibly elated when the band delivered some of their most beloved hits, including 'Resham' and 'Taal Ko Pani'.

As always, Amrit made every effort to connect the audience with Nepal and Nepali identity. He also emphasized themes of social awareness and the spirit of humanity.

In the midst of the concert, a member of the audience hurled the national flag onto the stage. Amrit Gurung, still mid-performance, paused to pick it up and hold it aloft. He noticed something had been scribbled on it.

'Let us always treat this crimson banner with the moon and sun with the utmost respect,' he said, draping the flag over his shoulder. 'No one should ever be allowed to tarnish our flag.' The hall instantly erupted in applause and cheers. Unfazed, Amrit resumed his performance as before, the statement noted.

While performing 'Shirphool Shirai Ma', Amrit painted a lyrical portrait of Nepal's rural beauty. He also introduced a new song from the Karnali region, 'Karnalika Chhaila', offering a fresh musical tribute to the far-western hills.

According to the statement, the concert concluded on a deeply patriotic note, as Amrit performed stirring renditions of 'Gaun-Gaunbata Utha' and 'Rato Ra Chandra Surya', bidding farewell to the audience with heartfelt national sentiment.

On stage, Amrit was accompanied by Dhruba Lama on drums, Subin Shakya on bass guitar, Neeraj Gurung on guitar, Shanti Rayamajhi on madal, and Dineshraj Regmi on keyboard.

To facilitate attendance, an online ticketing system was arranged, allowing audiences to purchase tickets directly. Seats could be reserved through the band's official website: nepathya.com.np, Nepalaya said in the statement.

The 14-member entourage will head to Greensboro, North Carolina to perform on June 14 before returning to Nepal. This year's USA tour has been jointly coordinated by MoMo Entertainment and Ke Garira.
