KATHMANDU, JULY 1

Police have arrested four individuals with 1,074 kilograms of marijuna from Kailash Rural Municipality-5, Katahare in Makawanpur district.

The arrested are Haribahadur Waiba (78), Buddhibahadur Pakhrin (48), Arun Gole (34), and Rajendra Lama (19), all residents of the local area.

Acting on tip-off that a large amount of marijuna is being stored in the hose and compound, a joint team from the Narcotics Control Bureau, Koteshwor, Palung Area Police Office, and local police conducted house searches at the residences of Haribahadur, Buddhibahadur, Arun, Rajendra, Gokarna Paudel, Manbahadur Moktan, and Somlal Gole at around 8:00am on Monday.

During the operation, police discovered 54 sacks containing marijuana.

The arrested have been handedover to the Area Police Office, Palung for further investigation, police informed.

They will be charged under the Narcotic Drugs (Control) Act, 2033 (1976), police added.
