KATHMANDU, JULY 29
Nepal registered a major triumph at the Karma Fight League, South Asia's largest K1 championship, held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on July 25.
Out of five Nepali fighters who took part in the high-profile event, three returned home with gold medals. Representing Nepal were four fighters from the Rage Fight Team - Arjun KC, Santosh Khatri, Koshish Shrestha, and Yugeen Sharma - along with Sushmita Thapa from Sak Yant Club in Pokhara.
Among them, Arjun KC, Sushmita Thapa, and Koshish Shrestha clinched gold in their respective weight divisions. The main event of the evening featured an electrifying 70kg bout between Nepal's Koshish Shrestha and India's Shoeb Ali. Shrestha emerged victorious in front of a roaring crowd, adding another international title to his name.
Established in 2023 and sanctioned by the All Fight System Organisation, Karma Fight League has quickly earned a reputation for maintaining global standards and providing a platform for elite national and international K1 athletes.
The Rage Fight Team, a cornerstone of Nepal's combat sports community, has been training and developing champions in mixed martial arts and K1 for the past 15 years. K1, a sport combining techniques from karate, kickboxing, and kung-fu, is widely regarded as one of the most intense and skillful martial arts formats, and continues to gain popularity worldwide.
