KATHMANDU, AUGUST 4

Amid persistent groupism and factionalism within the party, the CPN (Maoist Centre) has resolved to dismantle internal divisions and initiate structural reforms.

A meeting of the party's Standing Committee, held at the central office in Koteshwor today, concluded with a warning of disciplinary action against leaders engaging in activities that deviate from official party decisions, according to party spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota.

'Various committees will be formed to monitor activities that jeopardize party unity and organization,' Sapkota said, adding that the Maoist Centre has adopted a resolution to transform itself into a cleaner and more disciplined party. A code of conduct and internal regulations will also be introduced to ensure better governance within the organization.

Deputy General Secretary Janardan Sharma has reportedly acknowledged and accepted the Standing Committee's decision and agreed to sign the resolution, Sapkota confirmed.

The party also plans to convene a Central Committee meeting between the Dashain and Tihar festivals.

Significantly, the Maoist Centre has decided to merge the Biplav-led party into its fold, signaling a broader effort to consolidate like-minded political forces.
