Heavy rain likely in Koshi, Bagmati, and Madhesh Provinces amid monsoon activity

KATHMANDU, AUGUST 9

The low-pressure monsoon trough is currently positioned to the north of its average location in the east and near the Terai region in the west.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the weather will remain generally cloudy across the country this afternoon, with the possibility of moderate rainfall in some areas of the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in a few areas of the remaining provinces.

The Division has also forecast the likelihood of heavy rainfall in one or two locations within the hilly regions of Koshi and Bagmati provinces.

Tonight, conditions are expected to remain generally cloudy nationwide. Moderate rainfall is likely in some hilly and Terai areas of Madhesh, Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and in a few hilly and Terai areas of the other provinces.

One or two locations in the hilly regions of Koshi and Bagmati provinces, as well as parts of Madhesh Province, may experience heavy rainfall.
