KATHMANDU, JULY 22
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) has forecast partly to generally cloudy conditions across the country for today and tonight.
According to the DHM, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely at some places of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, including the hilly regions today afternoon. A few places in other provinces may also receive rainfall. There is a chance of heavy rainfall at one or two locations in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
Tonight, similar weather patterns are expected, with light to moderate rain and thunderstorms likely at some places in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, along with hilly areas elsewhere. The risk of heavy rainfall remains at one or two locations in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
In Kathmandu Valley, the day will remain generally cloudy with likely rain or thundershowers. The maximum temperature is expected to range between 27°C and 29°C, with a 60% chance of rain. During the night, the weather will remain cloudy with chances of rain or thundershowers. The minimum temperature is expected to be between 21°C and 23°C, with a 40% chance of rain.
According to the DHM, the country remains under the influence of monsoon winds. The monsoon trough is currently located near the average position over Nepal.
