Major highways affected by rain, landslides across the country

KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 22

Continuous rain, floods and landslides have blocked or partially obstructed several key highways across Nepal, according to the latest update from Nepal Police.

Status as of 9:00 a.m., Sept 22 the following key highways have been obstructed:

Koshi Province

Sankhuwasabha: Koshi Highway fully blocked at Bhotkhola-4 Barun and Makalu-3 Ekua due to persistent rainfall.

Bagmati Province

Rasuwa: Flood has completely blocked the road linking Nepal–China border, in Gosakikunda Rural Municipality-2,

Galchi–Trishuli–Mailung–Syafru road has been operating due to the flood in Naubise.

Sindhupalchok: Pasang Lhamu Highway fully blocked due to landslife at Baluwakhani in Gosainkunda-2.

Sindhupalchok: Landslide has fully blocked Araniko Highway at Kodari in Bahrabise-2 Kodari.

Chitwan: Narayangadh–Muglin section one-way at Ichchhakamana-5 Tumkhola.

Gandaki Province

Baglung: Kaligandaki Corridor one-way at Kalakhola in Baglung-13 due to landslide.

Baglung: Kaligandaki Corridor one-way at Tarkhola in Maidkot-3 due to flood.

Nawalparasi East: East–West Highway one-way at Binayi Tribeni-2 Bishwakarma Temple and Paisatthi Mod due to rain and landslides.

Lumbini Province

Rukum East: Mid-Hill Highway one-way at Kothabagar in Bhume-4 after a landslide.

Authorities have urged travelers to check route conditions before setting out, as repair and clearance work continues on affected stretches.
