Kathmandu Valley to see 60% chance of rainfall, heavy showers possible in Bagmati and Sudurpashchim

KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 1

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) has forecast generally cloudy weather across the country today, with rainfall expected in several regions.

In Kathmandu Valley, the weather will remain generally cloudy with rain this afternoon, with maximum temperatures ranging between 27–29°C and a 60% chance of rainfall. Tonight, the valley will again experience cloudy and rainy conditions, with minimum temperatures ranging from 20–22°C and a similar 60% likelihood of precipitation.

Nationwide, moderate rainfall is likely today at some places in Koshi, Bagmati, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim Provinces, and at a few places in the remaining hilly and Terai regions. The DHM has also warned of the possibility of heavy rainfall at one or two places in Bagmati and Sudurpashchim Provinces.

Tonight, the forecast remains generally cloudy across the country, with moderate rainfall expected at some places in Sudurpashchim Province, a few places in the hilly regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini Provinces, and isolated spots in the Terai.

According to DHM, the monsoon trough line is currently positioned south of its average location, while moist winds from the Arabian Sea are contributing to the cloudy and rainy conditions observed across Nepal.
