Monsoon withdraws; Fair weather expected across most parts of the country

KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 11

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) has announced that the monsoon has completely withdrawn from Nepal, marking the end of this year's rainy season.

According to the DHM, partly cloudy conditions are expected today in the hilly regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali Provinces, while the rest of the country will experience mainly fair weather. Light rainfall is likely at one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi Province.

Tonight, the weather will remain partly cloudy in the hilly regions of Koshi Province and mainly fair elsewhere.

In the Kathmandu Valley, the afternoon will see partly cloudy skies with a maximum temperature ranging between 26°C and 28°C, while the nighttime temperature is expected to drop to 14°C–16°C. The DHM said there is no probability of rain in the valley today.

The department added that no significant weather system is currently influencing the country.
