KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 11

Prime Minister Sushila Karki has directed the concerned authorities to immediately initiate the process of appointing the General Manager of Nepal Airlines Corporation through an open competition.

Also serving as the Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Prime Minister Karki issued the directive while being briefed by the Ministry's Secretary, Hari Mainali, on the progress made so far, according to the Prime Minister's Secretariat.

It may be recalled that a selection committee has already been formed under the coordination of Secretary Mainali to appoint the Corporation's General Manager through an open, competitive process. Captain K.B. Limbu serves as an expert member of the committee, while the Chief of the Ministry's Planning and Administration Division acts as the member-secretary.

Secretary Mainali informed that preparatory work related to the procedural aspects of the appointment is currently underway.
