MADRID: Europa League holders Sevilla confirmed the signing of striker Fernando Llorente on Thursday on a free transfer from Italian champions Juventus. Llorente joined Juventus on a free transfer from Athletic Bilbao two years ago and went on to win back-to-back Serie A titles, as well as playing a role as the Bianconeri reached the Champions League final last season. However, he has seen his first-team opportunities limited by the arrival of Alvaro Morata, Mario Mandzukic and Paulo Dybala over the past two summers. He hasn’t featured for national team in two years, but could force his way back into the European Championships in France next year.
